This tablet combines rifampicin, isoniazid, pyrazinamide and ethambutol, the standard first line TB medicines recommended by the World Health Organization. Together they kill active TB bacteria quickly and protect against resistance. The combination is typically used for the first 2 months of treatment. A continuation phase with fewer medicines then follows for several more months.

Dose is set by body weight, and the tablets are best taken on an empty stomach. Rifampicin can turn urine, sweat and tears orange, which is harmless. Missing doses or stopping early can make TB harder to treat, so the full course matters. Good nutrition and rest support recovery during treatment.

How to use Myrin-P Forte tablet?

• Dose depends on body weight, usually 2 to 5 tablets once daily, exactly as prescribed.
• Take on an empty stomach, 30 minutes before or 2 hours after food, with water.
• Take every dose without gaps for the full course set by the doctor.
• Do not stop early, even if symptoms improve.

Drug Interactions

• Oral contraceptives: Rifampicin can make birth control pills less effective, so another method is advised.
• Warfarin and diabetes medicines: Rifampicin can weaken their effect, so dose changes may be needed.
• HIV medicines and antiepileptics: Doses may need adjustment because blood levels can change.
• Alcohol and paracetamol: They add to the risk of liver injury.
• Aluminum antacids: They can lower absorption, so keep doses 2 hours apart.

• Liver damage: All four medicines can harm the liver, so jaundice, dark urine or severe tiredness needs urgent review.
