How to use Nixaf Tablet 550mg?
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
- Take with or without food
- Complete the full prescribed course
- Take at evenly spaced times each day
Contraindications
- Not suitable for patients with a known allergy to rifaximin or other rifamycin antibiotics
- Avoid in patients with fever or bloody diarrhea without medical review
- Contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment without close monitoring
- Not recommended for children under 12 years
Drug Interactions
- Cyclosporine: can raise rifaximin levels in the body, use with caution
- Warfarin: may enhance warfarin's blood-thinning effect
- Live bacterial vaccines: such as typhoid vaccine, may be less effective during treatment
