How to use Optilets M Tablet?

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
• Take at the same time each day for consistency
• Can be taken with or after a meal
• Do not crush or chew unless directed by the physician

Contraindications

• Should not be taken by patients with iron overload conditions such as hemochromatosis
• Known allergy to any vitamin, mineral or ingredient in this tablet rules out its use
• Not suitable for patients already taking high dose vitamin A or D supplements
• Avoid in patients with Wilson's disease due to the copper content

Drug Interactions

• Warfarin: the vitamin C and mineral content can affect blood clotting control and needs monitoring
• Orlistat: reduces the absorption of the fat soluble vitamins in this tablet
• Cholesterol lowering bile acid sequestrants: can reduce the absorption of vitamins A, D, E and K in this tablet
• Tetracycline antibiotics: the iron content can reduce their absorption; space doses apart by at least 2 hours

Risks and warnings

• Pregnant or breastfeeding women: should follow the dose recommended by their physician
• Children: should not use this tablet unless a physician has advised it
• Kidney disease: requires medical supervision since mineral levels can be affected
• Long-term high-dose use: should be avoided without medical supervision to prevent vitamin buildup
