Oxaquin Tablet 400mg formula
How to use Oxaquin Tablet 400mg?
- Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water
- May be taken with or without food
- Take 2 hours before or 6 hours after antacids, iron, zinc or calcium
- Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early
Contraindications
- Should not be taken by patients allergic to moxifloxacin or other quinolones
- Should not be taken by patients with past tendon problems linked to quinolones
- Should not be taken with known QT prolongation, slow heart rate or low potassium
- Should not be taken with severe liver impairment
Risks and warnings
- Stop the tablet and call your doctor: if you notice tendon pain or swelling, as fluoroquinolones may cause tendon rupture
- Use with caution: if you have heart rhythm problems, since this antibiotic may prolong the QT interval
- Use with caution: if you have diabetes, since blood sugar may drop too low or rise too high
- Use with caution: if you have myasthenia gravis, since muscle weakness may worsen
- Use with caution: if you take corticosteroids, since this may raise the risk of tendon injury
