Panadol is a painkiller. It works by stopping the production of chemicals that lead to pain in the body. It is a widely used over-the-counter (OTC) medication. Panadol can be used in conditions such as migraine, joint pain, back pain, etc. It can also be taken to reduce fever.

1. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

2. Allergic to Paracetamol

People who are allergic to Paracetamol should not take Panadol. A mild reaction in the form of rash, wheezing etc. can occur, and the reaction can be as grave as anaphylaxis.

4. Skin reaction

8. Dehydration

Patients suffering from fluid loss and dehydration should be administered paracetamol IV with caution.

9. Asthma

Asthmatic patients are advised to be careful with their consumption of Panadol.

How to use Panadol Tablet 500mg?

  • Panadol can be taken with food or on an empty stomach
  • It is better to take it with food, since it does not cause or aggravate preexisting cases of gastritis
  • Do not use the medicine after the expiration date has passed
  • For children, the suggested dosage is 75mg/kg/day, which is to be given after every 4 to 6 hours. The total, however, should not exceed 1g/dose
  • In adults, the recommendation is 650mg at intervals of 4-6 hours. The dosage for one day should be capped at 3.25g to 4g
