How to use Prosil Gel?
- Clean and dry the scarred area before applying
- Apply a thin, even layer over the entire scar
- Allow the gel to dry fully before covering with clothing
- Wash hands after application
Contraindications
- This medicine must not be used by patients with an open or unhealed wound
- Not suitable for use on broken, infected or actively bleeding skin
- Avoid in patients with a known allergy to silicone-based products
- Should not be used on skin with an active rash or dermatitis without medical advice
Risks and warnings
- Open wounds: the scar should be fully healed and closed before starting this gel
- First-time use: test on a small area first to check for irritation
- Sun exposure: protect treated scars from direct sun exposure during the day
- No improvement after several weeks: should prompt a review with the physician
