How to use Secure Mouth Wash 200ml?
- A capful of about 10ml should be swished around the mouth for 30 to 60 seconds after brushing.
- Two rinses a day, morning and night, work best for most adults and children over age six.
- Spitting out the rinse afterward is important since swallowing large amounts should be avoided.
- No eating or drinking is recommended for 30 minutes after rinsing so the fluoride can work on the teeth.
- Children under six years should use this product only under adult supervision.
Drug Interactions
- Calcium-rich foods or supplements: Taking these at the same time as the rinse may reduce fluoride absorption slightly, so a short gap is helpful.
- Other fluoride products: Combining several fluoride toothpastes, gels or tablets on the same day raises the risk of excess fluoride intake.
- Systemic medications: No significant interaction with oral tablets, capsules or injections has been reported for this topical rinse.
Risks and warnings
- Fluorosis risk: Repeated swallowing by young children can cause white spots on developing teeth, so supervision matters.
- Allergic reaction: Rare irritation or allergic response can occur in sensitive individuals, and use should stop if this happens.
- Not a substitute for brushing: This rinse supports, but does not replace, twice daily brushing and regular dental visits.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Normal fluoride mouthwash use is considered safe, though a dentist can be consulted if there is any concern.
Side Effects
- Mild tingling or irritation in the mouth right after rinsing.
- A temporary change in taste.
- Rare allergic reactions such as swelling or rash.
- Tooth staining is uncommon with fluoride rinses but can occur with long-term heavy use.
Storage Conditions
Room temperature storage away from direct sunlight keeps the rinse effective, and the cap should stay tightly closed between uses. A place out of reach of children is best, and the bottle should never be frozen.
