How to use Shevit Tablet?
- Shevit tablet can be taken with or without food, though taking it after a meal reduces stomach upset.
- Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water, without crushing or chewing.
- Continue taking Shevit tablet for the full duration prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not stop this supplement suddenly without first speaking to your doctor
Contraindications
- Known allergy to any vitamin, mineral, or ingredient in the Shevit tablet formula
- Hypervitaminosis A or D (excess levels of vitamin A or D already present in the body)
- Iron overload conditions such as hemochromatosis or hemosiderosis
- Conditions requiring medically restricted intake of calcium, iron, or zinc
Drug Interactions
- Warfarin: Vitamin K content in Shevit tablet may reduce the effectiveness of this blood-thinning medicine
- Anticonvulsants (carbamazepine, phenytoin, valproic acid): The folic acid in Shevit tablet may alter seizure control in some patients
- Antibiotics (tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones): Iron and calcium in Shevit tablet can reduce the absorption of these antibiotics if taken at the same time
- Thyroid medicines (levothyroxine): Calcium and iron in Shevit tablet can interfere with thyroid medication absorption; a gap of at least 4 hours is recommended
- Levodopa: Vitamin B6 in Shevit tablet may reduce the effect of levodopa when taken without carbidopa

- Iron overload: Shevit tablet contains 65 mg of iron, which can be harmful in patients with conditions that cause iron to accumulate
- Kidney disease: Some minerals in Shevit tablet, especially calcium and magnesium, may build up in patients with impaired kidney function

- Antibiotic use: Iron and calcium can bind to certain antibiotics in the gut, so Shevit tablet should be taken at a different time of day
