How to use Sumoxen tablet 85mg / 500mg?

• Take one Sumoxen tablet with water at the first sign of a migraine, as prescribed by your doctor.
• Swallow the tablet whole and take it with food if it upsets your stomach.
• A second tablet, if needed, should be taken no sooner than 2 hours later, and no more than 2 tablets in 24 hours.
• Do not use it for headaches that feel different from your usual migraine without asking a doctor.

Drug Interactions

• MAO inhibitors: Sumatriptan should not be used with or within 2 weeks of these antidepressants.
• SSRIs, SNRIs and other serotonin drugs: Combining them can rarely cause serotonin syndrome, with agitation, fast heartbeat and fever.
• Other triptans and ergot medicines: Using them within 24 hours of each other can overly narrow blood vessels.
• Aspirin, other NSAIDs and blood thinners: Together they increase the risk of stomach bleeding.

Risks and warnings

• Heart and blood vessels: Not for people with heart disease, past stroke, uncontrolled high blood pressure or Raynaud disease. Stop and seek help for chest pain or sudden weakness.
• Stomach bleeding: Naproxen can cause ulcers and bleeding, especially in older adults and long term users.
• Kidney and liver problems: Avoid or use with great caution in significant kidney or liver disease.
