How to use Ulcenil Syrup 120ml?
- Ulcenil syrup can be taken with or without food
- Shake the bottle well before each use to ensure the medicine is evenly mixed.
- Use the measuring spoon or cup provided to take the correct dose
- Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve early
- Do not stop Ulcenil syrup suddenly without consulting your doctor
Contraindications
- Known allergy to famotidine or any other ingredient in Ulcenil syrup
- History of serious allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis to H2-receptor blockers
- Patients with severe kidney impairment unless the dose is adjusted by a doctor
- Rare genetic conditions causing difficulty processing certain sugars (in sugar-containing formulation)
Drug Interactions
- Atazanavir: Ulcenil syrup reduces absorption of this HIV medicine, making it less effective.
- Ketoconazole and itraconazole: These antifungal medicines require stomach acid to work; Ulcenil syrup reduces their absorption.
- NSAIDs (such as aspirin or ibuprofen): Combining these with Ulcenil syrup may require dose adjustment.
- Tizanidine: Ulcenil syrup may increase the level of this muscle relaxant in the blood.
- Dasatinib and nilotinib: These cancer medicines may have reduced absorption when taken alongside Ulcenil syrup.
Risks and warnings
- Kidney disease: Patients with reduced kidney function need a lower dose to avoid side effects.
- CNS effects in elderly: Older patients with kidney problems have a higher risk of confusion or dizziness.
