What Experts Say
Tramadol works on the brain and spinal cord to change how the body senses and responds to pain, while Paracetamol reduces pain and fever through a different pathway. Combining them allows lower doses of each while still giving strong pain relief.
Because tramadol is an opioid, it carries a risk of dependence and should be used only for as long as needed, at the lowest effective dose. It is not usually recommended for long term daily use without close medical supervision.
Doctors advise caution when combining this medicine with other sedating drugs or alcohol, since the combination can increase drowsiness and the risk of slowed breathing. Sudden discontinuation after regular use can also cause withdrawal symptoms.
