This capsule combines an inhaled corticosteroid, fluticasone furoate, with a long acting bronchodilator, vilanterol. How to use Vilanto-F Dpi Capsule 200mcg?

• Adults and adolescents 12 years and above: inhale 1 capsule (200 mcg/25 mcg) once daily, as prescribed, for asthma only.
• Inhale the contents of one capsule once daily using the inhaler device, at the same time each day.
• Place the capsule only in the inhaler device. Do not swallow the capsule.
• Rinse the mouth with water after each use and spit it out, without swallowing.
• Do not use for sudden breathlessness, and keep a quick relief inhaler for such attacks.

Drug Interactions

• Beta blockers: They can block the effect of vilanterol and may worsen asthma.
• Ketoconazole, itraconazole and ritonavir: They raise the levels of the drug and the chance of side effects.
• Other long acting beta agonists: Using two together may increase heart related side effects.
• Diuretics and steroids: Together they may lower potassium levels.

Risks and warnings

• Not for sudden attacks: It does not relieve acute breathlessness, so a rescue inhaler must stay available.
• Heart and blood pressure: It may raise heart rate or blood pressure, so people with heart disease need medical advice.
