How to use Xanthin Plus Tablet?
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
- Take it with a meal at a consistent time each day
- Do not combine with other ginkgo, ginseng or garlic supplements at the same time
- Follow your doctor's advice if you take this alongside prescribed eye treatment
Contraindications
- People diagnosed with a bleeding disorder should not take this tablet without medical advice
- Avoid in patients scheduled for surgery within the next two weeks
- Not suitable for children
- Avoid in pregnancy and while breastfeeding without medical advice
Drug Interactions
- Warfarin and other blood thinners: the ginkgo, ginseng and garlic in this tablet can each add to the bleeding risk
- Aspirin and other antiplatelet medicines: combined use further raises the risk of bleeding
- Insulin or other diabetes medicines: the ginseng content may add to their blood sugar lowering effect
Risks and warnings
- Before surgery: stop this tablet at least one to two weeks before any planned surgery or dental procedure
- Bleeding risk: watch for unusual bruising, nosebleeds or gum bleeding while taking this tablet
- Blood sugar: diabetic patients should monitor blood sugar closely while taking this supplement
- Not a substitute for treatment: this tablet does not replace a prescribed treatment for macular degeneration or other eye disease
