How to use Zexa Tablet 10mg?
- Swallow the tablet whole with water
- Can be taken with or without food
- Do not crush, chew or split the tablet
- Take at the same time each day, as prescribed
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with a known allergy to memantine
- Not suitable for patients with untreated glaucoma
- Avoid in patients with active suicidal thoughts
- Not established for use in children
Drug Interactions
- Other NMDA antagonists such as amantadine or ketamine: combined use raises the risk of side effects
- Cholinesterase inhibitors used for dementia: effects may change when combined with this tablet
- Cimetidine or drugs that alkalinize urine: these can raise memantine levels in the body
- Alcohol: combined use can worsen dizziness and confusion
Risks and warnings
- Severe kidney impairment: may need a lower, doctor guided dose
- Epilepsy or a seizure history: use this tablet with caution
- Driving or using machinery: avoid these until you know how the tablet affects you
