How to use Zohydro Cream?
- Clean and dry the affected area before applying
- Apply a thin layer and gently rub in
- Wash your hands after application unless the hands are being treated
- Avoid covering the area with an airtight bandage unless advised
Contraindications
- Should not be applied by patients with known allergy to clotrimazole or hydrocortisone
- Not suitable for viral skin infections such as herpes or chickenpox
- Avoid use on untreated bacterial or tubercular skin infections
- Not recommended for broken, weeping or heavily infected skin without medical supervision
Risks and warnings
- Prolonged use: avoid using for longer than advised, since steroid creams can thin the skin
- Face and skin folds: use with extra caution in these sensitive areas
- Children: use only under medical supervision and for the shortest effective time
- Worsening symptoms: stop use and see a doctor if the infection does not improve or gets worse
