Medicine Reaction

Asked for Female, 30 years

I am having a mild acne on face. The skin specialist prescribed me IsoTrex gel, but since it was no where to be found an alternate was provided to me by a pharmacist Duac gel (by stiefel). I applied it once on the affected area and my face has swollen and itching badly. Further the medicine contain benzoyl peroxide which once earlier as well I had same reaction too. Kindly guide as to what can be done to nullify the reaction.

Dear Patient,

Can you try using Sanclear Cream or Acdermin gel - pea-sized amount for the whole face and acne pimples.
To wash your face use a mild hypoallergenic soap/facewash and avoid touching the face. Do not share towels and soaps with anyone. Discontinue duac gel or any cream giving such a reaction. Always test on a small patch of skin on hand/face 24hrs before applying to the whole face. In case of an allergic reaction take tab softin once at night for 3-5 days and see a specialist.
