Risks and warnings

  • Children under 18: Novidat is not recommended for routine use in children as it may affect developing cartilage and joints.
  • Elderly patients: The risk of tendon pain, swelling, or rupture is higher in older adults, so any joint discomfort must be reported immediately.
  • Kidney or liver impairment: A dose adjustment is required to prevent drug accumulation and toxicity in these patients.
  • Heart rhythm disorders: Ciprofloxacin prolongs the QT interval, which heightens the risk for patients with a pre-existing rhythm condition.
  • Driving and machinery: Dizziness or confusion caused by Novidat may impair the ability to drive or operate equipment safely.
  • Antibiotic resistance: Novidat must only be used for confirmed or strongly suspected bacterial infections to prevent resistance development.
