Bio

Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal is a highly qualified Laparoscopic surgeon in Bahawalpur with over 3 decades of experience. He is currently a Professor of Surgery and Director DME and Quaid-e- Azam Medical College. He claims that medical education is his second love as he is also a published poet and also writes Urdu prose. He has a YouTube channel where he promotes education and uploads motivational videos.

Qualifications

Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal finished his MBBS from Nishter Medical College in Multan. He then completed his FCPS (Surgery) from College of Physicians of Surgeon and his FCPS (Surgery) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow. He then perfected his qualifications by completing his MCPS (Surgery) from HPE.

Experience

Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal has over 35 years of experience as a Laparoscopic surgeon. He is currently a Professor of Surgery at and Director DME at Quaid-e-Azam Medical College and was previously the Principal here as well.

Activism

Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal has a YouTube channel where he likes to raise awareness on the benefits of education and he also uploads motivational videos. He speaks about familial and societal issues in his videos. In a video he spoke about the second wave of Coronavirus is spreading across the world and in Pakistan as well. He mentioned how the second wave of the virus was due to a couple of factors, such as the natural course of the virus as well as the public getting too relaxed with SOPs. He also urged viewers to follow SOPs and to always wear a mask and sanitize and to avoid crowded areas.

Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal has a special interest in poetry and is a published poet. He also has an interest in Laparoscopic and endocrine surgery.
