Dr Abid Rafiq Chaudhry MD, has earned his Medical Degree from the Nishtar Medical University, Multan and completed his Internship as well as Pediatric Residency at the Prestigious Institution “The Aga Khan University Hospital Karachi in 2005, with Distinction, did MCPS and FCPS before leaving Abroad in 2006 for higher Training in Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) which is a Unique Subspeciality of Pediatrics dealing with sick Pediatric Patients in ICU.
Dr Abid Rafiq Chaudhry MD, spent 3 years in Middle East’s best Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children Hospital of King Fahad Medical city, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children Hospital of King Fahad Medical city, Riyadh is one of the biggest (35 bedded ) and busiest Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of its kind and then did further Fellowship training in PICU at St Christopher’s Hospital for Children/Drexel University Program, Philadelphia, PA, USA.
He gained valuable PICU experience in different hospitals across the Middle East after his US training including Prince Sultan Cardiac Center and Armed Force Hospital Jeddah at Full Consultant level before returning back finally in 2015 to Pakistan to serve his Nation in this rare field of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). He achieved also the Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health from London,UK and Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland as well.
Dr Abid Rafiq Chaudhry has extensive Pediatric experience and a career spanning over twenty years including 12 years rich experience in Pediatric Intensive Care.On his return back to Pakistan in 2015, he joined Children Hospital and Institute of Child Health, Lahore.He has a keen interest in Research and has several publications to his credit. He is certified in Basic Life support, Pediatric Advanced Life support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) as well as in ATLS (advanced trauma life support ) from University of PENN, Philadelphia, PA, USA.He is also having a certification in Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care support program by Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), USA.
