This tablet combines cyproterone acetate, which blocks the effect of male hormones, with the estrogen ethinylestradiol. Together they reduce the oil production and hormonal drive behind acne and unwanted hair in women.

Because it also acts as a combined oral contraceptive, it treats the skin and hair concerns while preventing pregnancy, which is important as these conditions are managed with hormonal therapy. Improvement in acne usually takes a few cycles.
