About Artifen Injection 75mg/3ml

Diclofenac Sodium NSAID injection used for fast relief of moderate to severe pain and inflammation.

Artifen Injection 75mg/3ml Uses

  • Moderate to severe pain and inflammation from arthritis, spondylitis, or musculoskeletal injuries
  • Postoperative and post traumatic pain
  • Acute gouty arthritis
  • Renal colic and pain from gallbladder conditions
  • Severe menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea)
  • Soft tissue injuries, sprains, and ligament strains

Artifen Injection 75mg/3ml Benefits

  • Provides faster pain relief than oral tablets since it bypasses the digestive system
  • Useful for patients who cannot swallow tablets or are vomiting
  • Strong anti-inflammatory action for acute flare ups
  • Given under medical supervision, reducing dosing errors
  • Effective for short term control of severe pain not responding to oral analgesics

What Experts Say

Diclofenac sodium works by blocking cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, which lowers the production of prostaglandins responsible for pain, swelling, and fever. Physicians prefer the injectable form when a patient needs faster and more reliable pain control than an oral tablet can offer, since intramuscular absorption reaches peak plasma levels within minutes rather than hours.

In acute settings such as post surgical pain, renal colic, or a severe gout flare, doctors often start with this injection for one to two days before switching the patient to oral diclofenac or another NSAID. This short injectable course limits total drug exposure while still controlling pain quickly during the most painful phase of an illness or recovery.

Because prostaglandins also protect the stomach lining, support kidney blood flow, and influence clotting, doctors weigh the GI, renal, and cardiovascular risks before prescribing. Patients with ulcer history, kidney disease, heart disease, or uncontrolled blood pressure are monitored closely or offered an alternative, and doctors generally avoid using diclofenac injections for more than a few days at a time.
