About Ceporex Capsule 250mg
Cephalexin belongs to the first generation cephalosporin class of antibiotics. It works by binding to penicillin binding proteins on the bacterial cell wall, blocking the final stage of cell wall synthesis. This weakens the wall until the bacterial cell ruptures, giving cephalexin its bactericidal action. The drug covers many gram positive organisms such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus species, along with select gram negative bacteria including E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Proteus mirabilis. Doctors choose it after weighing the likely organism, local resistance patterns and the site of infection, and they stress finishing the full course to prevent relapse and resistance. Clinicians remain cautious in patients with a history of severe penicillin allergy because limited cross reactivity between penicillins and cephalosporins can occur. Dose adjustment is needed in kidney impairment since the drug is cleared renally. It is generally considered compatible with pregnancy but only under a physician's direct supervision.Ceporex Capsule 250mg Uses
