What Experts Say
Doctors across Pakistan commonly prescribe Diclofenac for short term pain relief because it works quickly on both pain and swelling. It blocks certain enzymes in the body that produce chemicals responsible for inflammation, so joints and muscles feel less sore within a few doses.
Taking this medicine with food or milk is usually advised, since it can irritate the stomach lining and, in some people, lead to ulcers or stomach bleeding with long term use. Doctors generally recommend using the lowest effective dose for the shortest time needed to control symptoms.
People with heart disease, high blood pressure, or kidney problems need extra caution, since NSAIDs like Diclofenac can raise blood pressure and affect kidney function over time. Anyone with chest pain, swelling in the legs, or reduced urine output while on this medicine should contact a doctor right away. Long term daily use without medical supervision is not advised.
