How to use Flutivate cream 0.05%?

• Adults: apply a thin layer to the affected skin once or twice daily, as prescribed.
• Rub in gently and wash hands after use, unless the hands are being treated.
• Do not use on the face, groin or underarms unless the doctor advises it.
• Avoid covering with tight bandages or dressings unless directed.
• Stop and consult a doctor if there is no improvement in 2 weeks, or after 4 weeks of continuous use.

Drug Interactions

• Other topical corticosteroids: Using two steroid products on the same area raises the risk of side effects.
• Ritonavir and itraconazole: They can raise steroid levels in the body if large areas are treated for long.
• Occlusive dressings: Covering the area increases absorption and the chance of side effects.
• Skin products with alcohol or irritants: They may worsen burning or dryness on treated skin.

Risks and warnings

• Skin infections: Do not use on untreated bacterial, fungal or viral skin infections.
• Skin thinning: Long use or large areas can thin the skin and cause stretch marks.
• Eyes and face: Avoid contact with the eyes, and use on the face only if prescribed.
