About Hydrogen Peroxide 110ml
A mild foaming antiseptic solution for cleaning minor cuts, scrapes and small skin wounds at home.
Uses
- Cleaning minor cuts, scrapes and abrasions as a first aid antiseptic
- Removing dirt and debris from small skin wounds through its foaming action
- Disinfecting the skin surface around minor injuries before applying a dressing
- General household first aid kit use for everyday small wounds
What Experts Say
Hydrogen peroxide has been used as a wound antiseptic for generations because it fizzes on contact with blood and tissue, which helps lift out dirt and debris from a fresh cut or scrape.
Newer wound care guidance is more cautious about this habit. Research shows that hydrogen peroxide can also damage healthy skin cells and slow down the natural healing process, especially when used repeatedly on the same wound.
Most doctors now recommend using it only for a first quick clean of a dirty wound, then switching to plain saline or clean water for ongoing care. It should never be poured into deep cuts, punctures or wounds that are already healing well.
