How to use Lefoxin tablet 500mg?

Take one tablet once daily, at the same time each day.
Swallow with water, with or without food.
Avoid antacids, calcium or iron supplements within 2 hours of the dose.
Complete the full course exactly as prescribed.

Drug Interactions

Levofloxacin interacts with several common medicines and minerals.

Antacids, calcium, iron and zinc: These reduce levofloxacin absorption if taken too close together.
Warfarin: Can increase the blood thinning effect and bleeding risk.
NSAIDs: Combining raises the risk of central nervous system effects, including seizures.
Corticosteroids: Increase the risk of tendon rupture, especially in older adults.

Risks and warnings

Tendon problems: Stop the medicine and seek care if tendon pain, swelling or a snapping sensation occurs.
Heart rhythm: Use cautiously in people with a history of irregular heartbeat or QT prolongation.
Nervous system effects: May cause confusion, tremors or, rarely, seizures.
Sun sensitivity: Skin may burn more easily; limit direct sun exposure.
