What Experts Say
Pediatricians in Pakistan consider paracetamol the first choice medicine for fever and pain in young children. Medimol Suspension 120mg delivers this medicine in a liquid form that is easy to measure and gentle on a child's stomach. Fever is a common reason parents visit pediatric clinics, often linked to viral infections, teething, or vaccination reactions.
Weight based dosing matters more than age based dosing when treating children with paracetamol. A child who receives more than one paracetamol containing product at the same time faces a risk of accidental overdose, since many cold and flu syrups already contain this ingredient. Parents should check the label of every medicine a child takes before adding this suspension.
Most fevers in children respond to Medimol Suspension within an hour and settle within two to three days. A fever lasting beyond three days, crossing 104 degrees Fahrenheit, or paired with rash, breathing trouble, or repeated vomiting needs urgent medical evaluation. Early consultation with a pediatrician helps rule out serious infections.

Drug Interactions
- Other Paracetamol Products: Combining with additional paracetamol containing syrups or tablets raises the risk of liver toxicity.
- Warfarin: Regular use of paracetamol can mildly increase the blood thinning effect of warfarin.
- Anti Seizure Medicines: Drugs like phenytoin and carbamazepine can raise the risk of liver stress when combined with paracetamol.
- Alcohol Based Liquid Medicines: Some liquid medicines contain alcohol, which can add extra strain on the liver alongside paracetamol.
Risks and warnings
- Liver Risk: Doses above the recommended limit can damage a child's liver, especially with repeated overdosing.
- Hidden Overlap: Many cold, flu, and fever syrups already contain paracetamol, so combining products raises overdose risk.
- Liver Disease: Children with an existing liver condition need a doctor's guidance before use.
- Allergy: Stop the suspension and seek medical care if rash, swelling, or breathing trouble appears.
- Empty Stomach Use: Give the suspension with a small feed to lower the chance of stomach upset.
