- Montel is not a rescue medicine for sudden asthma attacks or wheezing episodes.

Drug Interactions
- Phenobarbital: This seizure medicine can lower montelukast levels in the blood, reducing its effectiveness.
- Rifampin: This antibiotic speeds up montelukast breakdown, which may reduce its effect.
- Gemfibrozil: This cholesterol medicine can raise montelukast levels and increase side effect risk.
