How to use Nebra Ointment 0.3%?

• Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the ointment.
• Tilt your head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid to form a small pocket.
• Apply a thin ribbon of ointment, about 1 to 1.5 cm, inside the lower eyelid.
• Close the eye gently for 1 to 2 minutes and roll the eyeball to spread the ointment evenly.
• Avoid touching the tube tip to the eye, eyelid, or any other surface to prevent contamination.
• Remove contact lenses before application and wait until the infection clears before reinserting them.
• Use at the frequency and duration your eye specialist prescribes, usually 2 to 3 times daily.
• Wipe away excess ointment with a clean tissue and avoid rubbing the eye afterward.

Drug Interactions

• Other Topical Eye Medications: Using other eye drops or ointments at the same time can dilute or wash out Nebra Ointment 0.3%, so space them at least 5 to 10 minutes apart when both are prescribed.
• Other Aminoglycoside Antibiotics: Combining with systemic aminoglycosides such as gentamicin or amikacin may add to toxicity risk, though this is minimal with topical eye use.
