Olevo tablet is widely used across Pakistan for chest, urinary, and skin infections that need a strong antibiotic, particularly during flu season. Physicians in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi often prescribe it when first line antibiotics are not suitable or have not worked.
Levofloxacin works by stopping bacteria from copying their DNA, which kills the bacteria causing the infection. A single daily dose usually reaches effective levels in the blood, lungs, and urinary tract within a short time.
This antibiotic is not meant for viral illnesses like flu or common cold. Doctors reserve it for confirmed or strongly suspected bacterial infections, since overuse contributes to antibiotic resistance in the community.
