Ospamox Tablet Uses

This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections. Amoxicillin is also used with other medications to treat stomach/intestinal ulcers caused by the bacteria H. pylori and to prevent the ulcers from returning.

How to use Ospamox Tablet 1000mg?

• Try to space the doses evenly throughout the day. If you take it 3 times a day, this could be first thing in the morning, mid-afternoon and at bedtime.
• You can take Ospamox before or after food.
• Swallow Ospamox tablets whole with a drink of water. Do not chew or break them.

Ospamox Side Effects

The side effects of Ospamox are as follows:

• Abdominal pain
• Vomit containing coffee grounds
• Blood in stool
• Constipation
• Black stools
• Acid reflux
• Anemia
• Elevation of live enzymes
• Diarrhea
• Serum sickness
• Rise of infections
• Crystalluria

Drug Interactions

Ospamox is a penicillin antibiotic. It may interact with the following drugs. A drug interaction does not mean that you stop taking the medicine on your own. But you must tell your healthcare provider about it. 

• Probenecid
• Blood thinners like warfarin 
• Allopurinol 
• Oral birth control pills containing estrogen and progesterone.
• Other antibiotics like chloramphenicol, tetracyclines, sulfonamides, and macrolides.

To avoid drug interactions, you must give a complete history to the healthcare provider about other health conditions you have and what medicines you have been taking. At times, a dose adjustment can help prevent drug interaction.
