Sodium cromoglycate stabilizes mast cells in the nose so they release less histamine, while xylometazoline narrows swollen blood vessels to relieve congestion.

It is used regularly for allergy symptom prevention, but the decongestant part works best as a short course rather than continuous long term use.

Using a decongestant nasal spray for more than about a week can cause rebound congestion, so the course length matters.

How to use Oxycrom-P Nasal Spray?

• Clear the nose gently before using the spray.
• Use as advised, usually a few times daily for a limited period.
• Avoid continuous use beyond five to seven days.
• Avoid sharing the bottle with others to prevent infection.

Drug Interactions

Oxycrom-P has limited significant drug interactions when used as directed in the nose.

• Other decongestants: Combining raises the risk of rebound congestion and high blood pressure.
• MAO inhibitors: Xylometazoline may interact with these and raise blood pressure.
