How to use Raxil CR Tablet 25mg?
- Take Raxil CR Tablet 25mg once daily, usually in the morning, exactly as prescribed.
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
- Never crush, chew or split the tablet, since this destroys the controlled release coating and can release the full dose at once.
- Take with food to reduce nausea and stomach upset.
- Do not stop the tablet suddenly, even if you feel better, without talking to your doctor first.
- Full benefit usually takes two to four weeks of regular use to appear.
- If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember unless it is close to the next dose, then skip the missed one.
Drug Interactions
- Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs): Combining with drugs like phenelzine or selegiline can cause a dangerous serotonin reaction and must be avoided within 14 days of either medicine.
- Thioridazine And Pimozide: Paroxetine can raise blood levels of these drugs and increase the risk of dangerous heart rhythm changes, so co-use is avoided.
- Other Serotonergic Drugs: Triptans, tramadol, other antidepressants and St. John's Wort can raise the risk of serotonin syndrome when combined with this medicine.

- Alcohol And Sedatives: Combining with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants can worsen drowsiness and impair concentration.
Risks and warnings
- Suicidal Thoughts: Antidepressants including paroxetine can increase suicidal thinking and behavior in children, teenagers and young adults, especially in the first few weeks of treatment.
