Smecta sachet is used for the treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea. It is the medicine of choice for treating diarrhea in children. Smecta sachet controls diarrhea due to its adsorption properties. The medicine is composed of Dioctahedral Smectite which is an edible clay with antidiarrheal properties that adsorbs viruses, bacteria, and gastrointestinal irritants. The medicine comes in the form of a powder meant to be taken orally after dissolving it in water.

  • For Children: They can be given Smecta mixed with semi-liquid food or through a feeding bottle by dissolving the powder into 50ml of water.
  • The recommended dose for adults is 3 sachets a day for 7 days or as prescribed by your doctor.
  • The recommended dose in children in 4 sachets a day for 3 days and 2 sachets a day for 4 days afterwards
  • Do not exceed the prescribed dosage.
  • If your condition does not improve in 7 days contact your healthcare provider.
