Stemetil Tablet Uses

Stemetil tablet contains prochlorperazine maleate, an antiemetic and antipsychotic drug. It is indicated to treat nausea (feeling sick), vomiting (being sick), vertigo, schizophrenia and anxiety.

Prochlorperazine maleate, the main active ingredient in Stemetil works by balancing dopamine levels in your brain. Dopamine is a hormone and neurotransmitter responsible for regulating mood, behavior, and emotions. Hence it is effective in treating psychotic and behavioral disorders like schizophrenia, and anxiety.

Prochlorperazine maleate also works by blocking D2 dopamine receptors in the brain to help reduce nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy, motion sickness, or pregnancy.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Stemetil tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next scheduled dose, then skip the missed dose and take your next dose on time.

Do not overdose or take in excess to make up for missed doses as it may lead to side effects and complications. In case of any confusion about the dosage, it is best to consult your doctor.

1. Pregnancy

2. Breastfeeding

3. Driving or operating heavy machinery

To prevent the risk of accidents it is advised to refrain from driving or operating heavy machinery when taking Stemetil as it can make you drowsy, affect your coordination, and impair your thinking ability.

5. Alcohol
