T Day contains Levocetirizine, which is the isolated active half of Cetirizine's two mirror image forms. Standard Cetirizine is a mixture of both forms, but only one of them actually blocks the H1 histamine receptors responsible for sneezing, itching, and hives. By using only the active form directly, T Day achieves a similar effect at roughly half the milligram dose of standard Cetirizine.

Because Levocetirizine still crosses into the brain to some degree, a minority of patients notice more drowsiness with it than with newer non-sedating antihistamines, which is why many product labels suggest taking the dose in the evening rather than the morning. Most patients, however, tolerate it well during the day.

Levocetirizine is eliminated mainly unchanged through the kidneys, with very little liver processing involved. This makes kidney function especially important for this medicine, and patients with significant kidney impairment need a reduced dose or longer dosing interval to avoid the medicine building up in the body.

How to use T-Day Tablet 5mg?

• T Day tablet should be swallowed whole with a full glass of water and should not be crushed or chewed.
• T Day tablet may be taken with or without food.
• Many patients are advised to take T Day tablet in the evening to reduce the chance of daytime drowsiness.
• The standard adult dose is 5mg once daily.
• Children aged 6 to 11 years are usually given 2.5mg to 5mg once daily, as directed by a doctor.
• The dose should not be increased or the course extended beyond what a doctor has recommended.

Drug Interactions

Levocetirizine has a relatively low potential for drug interactions. The following should be noted:
