How to use Talopex Tablet 5mg?
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
- Take with or without food
- Take at a consistent time each day
- Continue taking as prescribed even if you begin feeling better
Contraindications
- Patients with a history of taking MAOI antidepressants within the last 14 days should not use this tablet
- Known allergy to escitalopram or citalopram rules out its use
- Not suitable for patients with a history of prolonged QT interval on ECG
- Avoid in patients taking pimozide due to a serious drug interaction
Drug Interactions
- MAOI antidepressants: combining with this tablet can cause a serious reaction; avoid within 14 days of MAOI use
- NSAIDs or anticoagulants: combined use increases the risk of bleeding
- Other serotonergic medicines: combining raises the risk of serotonin syndrome
