Treviamet Tablet Uses

Treviamet is an anti-diabetic medication used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, sometimes along with other anti-diabetic medications. It helps lower blood glucose levels and improves glycemic control. Treviamet is a combination of sitagliptin and metformin. It is often given when metformin is not effective on its own.

Sitagliptin belongs to the class of drugs known as dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors, while Metformin belongs to the biguanides class of medicines, used to lower blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes patients.

Risks and warnings

1. Pregnancy

You might need to take Treviamet during pregnancy if you have gestational diabetes. However, you should still consult your doctor before using it.

2. Breastfeeding

How to use Treviamet Tablet 50/500mg?

• Swallow it whole with a glass of water.
• Take it half an hour before food intake.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet.
• The recommended dosage of sitagliptin 50 mg/metformin 500 mg orally is twice a day. However, it may vary according to condition.
