Table of contents
Venofer injection contains iron sucrose as the main ingredient. It is used to treat iron deficiency anemia. Iron is important for the body as it helps make new red blood cells. When the body does not have enough iron it can lead to a condition called anemia. Anemia can cause shortness of breath and weakness due to a lack of hemoglobin (a substance in red blood cells that helps carry oxygen to the body’s organs and tissues). Venofer injection is an intravenous (IV) form of iron. Since it is injected directly into the veins it is far more effective than iron supplements taken orally. They can help raise hemoglobin levels quickly in anemia patients. Iron sucrose contained in Venofer is an iron replacement product. It helps promote red blood cell production in patients who have chronic kidney disease by replacing iron in the blood.Venofer Injection Uses
