How to use Xalatan Drops 0.005%?
- Instill one drop into the affected eye or eyes once daily, preferably in the evening.
- Wash hands before use and avoid letting the dropper tip touch the eye or any surface.
- Remove contact lenses before applying the drop and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
- Press gently on the inner corner of the eye for about a minute after applying to reduce absorption into the body.
- Wait at least five minutes before using any other eye drop.
Drug Interactions
- Thimerosal Containing Eye Drops: Using together with certain preserved eye drops can cause precipitation and reduce effectiveness, so they should not be mixed.
- Other Prostaglandin Analog Drops: Combining with a similar class of glaucoma drops does not add benefit and can increase side effects.
- NSAID Eye Drops: Concurrent use may theoretically reduce the pressure lowering effect of latanoprost.
- Systemic Beta Blockers: No major interaction, but eye pressure response should still be monitored when both are used.
