Angiography

Asked for Female, 43 years

My mother had her angiography done and the result was 30-40% blockage in two of them. The doctors said they will repeat the procedure after a year and then decide whether an angioplasty is needed. However, she was told not to pray at all after having food. My concern is what can be done for the month of Ramzan? Like can she pray maghrib after iftar or Pray first and then have something?

Dear Patient,

I'm sorry to hear this. Unfortunately, I have not heard nor could I find a correlation between blockage and namaz. She can perhaps sit and pray after opening her fast with just water/khajoor. She can eat after praying. Alternatively, you can choose to ask her current or new cardiologist to get a more comprehensive reply.
