Blocked Ear

I have pain in my ear., 4 days before after swimming my one ear was blocked, i tried different methods to unblock with cotton bud, to create vacuum in ear by hand palm, hair dryer to dry ear, and with water pressure, but no benefit, next day i went again for swimming after swimming at bath time i clean a-lot earwax and i feel better and blockage is finished , after 2 days mean today again i am in pain(even i didn’t swim today) and ear blocked again.

Dear Patient,

The pain you experienced is due to a little amount of water being blocked behind the ear wax. Once the wax comes loose, the water is also released and so is the wax and the pain stops. Please dont poke cottonbud in nor hair dryer.
Just see an ENT, they will clean the ear wax in their OPD and you will feel much better.

You can take 2 tablets of Panadol twice a day if the pain is a lot.
If you experience fever, any blood or discharge from the ear, pain is unbearable for hrs, etc then see an ENT immediately or go to ER( just a precautionary note- it is unlikely this will happen)
