Constipation

Asked for Male, 36 years

Constipation for 3 weeks causing severe anus pain while passing stools leading to occasional bleeding (5-6 times in 3 weeks). Tried lactolose twice a day but situation is not getting much better. No symptom other then increased WBC observed during occasional CBC test few days ago and a month ago with same results. Is there any link of increased WBC and constipation? What should he do to get relief?

Dear Patient,

Apply 2%GTN gel to the anus if still hurting/bleeding. Sitz bath-warm warer in tub is also helpful.
Take 2tbsp ispaghol daily in warm water before bedtime. Have atleast 14 glasses of water/dy and eat fruits and vegetables with peel on them. This is the best remedy for constipation. He can take 20ml of syrup lactulose in longterm.
The only treatment for avoiding rectal bleed is to avoid constipation, and for that fiber and water intake needs to increase. wbc indicate infection, its mildly increase n can be overlooked.
