Depression Disorder

Is anxiety & depression a genetic disorders? My husband is suffering from anxiety & depression from last 3 years n on medicines as per doctor advice. But whenever things going against his wish he became too much panic. My question is k Kiya ya SB issues meray kids ma b ajayga.? We have 2 kids one is 6 yrs old & other is 1 year old.

Dear Patient,

I'm sorry to hear that. It can have a genetic element but kids have their own nature and with the right support from parents and awareness they can combat this. If medications aren't enough for your husband you can try convincing him for counseling to adopt healthy coping techniques. These would also make him independent over time and maybe even leave medicines eventually.
As for your kids, keep reading on these illnesses and symptoms and discuss with them and a child psychologist on how to start nurturing them from a young age. also, it's best to realize despite our best efforts our kids sometimes do inherit some bad habits or traits and it's alright. Just do and hope for the best.
