Fatty liver recognition/identification

Dear doctors, i wanted to know about the fatty liver; what tests are required to confirm that a person has a fatty liver? Secondly, should the person be fasting for the ultrasound of abdomen?

Dear Patient,

No need to fast for the ultrasound.
You can do LFTs, lipid profile (you need to fast for this blood test) and ultrasound whole abdomen before seeing a hepatologist. Based on your test reports he can guide you further.
