Loose motion

Asked for Male, 39 years

Loose motion with no blood from last 6 days. Having 8 to 12 episodes/day. I have taken loperamide, metronidazole and ispaghul husk but no effect. Then given with inf. Cipro, Metronidazole and RL. Also on oral cipro and Entamezol DS but still no improvement. Should I change my medicines or should I visit a doctor?

Dear Patient,

Thank you for your query. The medications seem adeqaute. These are not supposed to stop motions, they are supposed to kill the harmful bacteria causing motions, the motions resolve themselves when all the damage-causing bacteria is out of the system. Continue taking these. After every stool, you can take biflor/smecta sachet. Eat khichri/yogurt/banana/sagoodana and take ORS in good quantity.
