Mumps Problem

Asked for Female, 23 years

I had mumps since Friday and hopefully, it will be the fifth day tomorrow. Mumps condition is fine alhamdulillah but my mouth...I feel gums and tongue it is all burning from inside I can't even eat dry bread or biscuit as everything hurts inside. What can I do to heal? I am taking all liquid diet from last 4 days

Dear Patient,

Continue liquid diet- avoid fruit juices as they may release more saliva and cause more pain. Take Tylenol for pain. For the burning sensations, you can do cold compresses from outside and chew ice chips for relief from inside the mouth. Ice cold beverages/soft foods may help.
