Pain in Ear and Throat

Asked for Male, 35 years

Need dentist opinion. I removed my 3rd molar 3 days back and have been taking Cefadroxil and Naproxen for 3 days. But still I have pain which goes to ear and throat. And then a bad breath too. I also gargle with Enziclor mouth wash. Should I continue these medicines?

Dear Patient,

Yes, please continue these treatments as prescribed. The pain you were experiencing is called “referred pain'. The same nerve near your molar passes through the other areas. Since your molar was removed and that area was irritated, till it settles and even a little after its normal for you to expect some pain and discomfort. The bad breath can go with regular brushing, floss, and enziclor use.
