Polyp in rectum

My son has a polyp in his rectum which is causing bleeding with stool. Dr has suggested colonoscopy he is 5 years old. Is it ok to go for it? Secondly, what are the fair chances of regrowth?

I'm sorry to hear that. Polyp usually occurs repeatedly if it runs in the family. If it is causing active bleeding then it is best to go for colonoscopy and find out if there are more.
