Stuck feeling in chest

I feel like something is stuck in my chest for about a week now. And this feeling is not going away. It is very uncomfortable, and I am scared about having cancer. I have been to a doctor, and he says I have an inflamed esophagus, but medicines are not helping.

Dear Patient,

Do you have any history of smoking/alcohol/drug/betel nut/paan consumption? For how long? Have you had any chest congestion? Do u have reflux after meals? If you haven't used any substance mentioned above its very unlikely that you have cancer. There are many times due to reflux, congestion, allergies etc that the esophagus can swell up causing the feeling of something being stuck in your throat.
